Short BIO:

I graduated from National University of Science & Technology (NUST) institute of Information Technology (NIIT) Pakistan in Oct 2004 with a Bachelors of Information Technology (BIT). During my BIT I had an honor to be Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan scholar. Further more I graduated with honor degree and received NUST’s most prestigious award Rectors Gold Medal. Right after my graduation I was hired by the same university to work as a Research Assistant under the supervision of Dr. Arshad Ali in three different projects in collaboration with California Institute of Technology (Caltech) USA, Stanford University USA and Communication Technologies (Comtec) Japan. Due to my outstanding performance and understanding about network and network management in Feb 2005 I was invited Dr. Les Cottrell to peruse my research as postgraduate research students at Stanford University USA. I left NUST in Feb 2005 to pursue fame and fortune on the Left Coast of the U.S.A. I joined Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) as a research assistant to work with Network Monitoring team at SLAC Computing Services (SCS). During my one year stay at SLAC I participated in a wide range of projects and spend some fabulous moments of my life. In November 2005 I was part of the team lead my Dr. Les Cottrell who won SuperComputing Bandwidth Challenge for the maximum bandwidth utilization. I left USA in Feb 2006 and visited DERI, Ireland where I was invited to give a presentation and meet with researchers to discuss my research interests. Finally I arrived back to Pakistan by the Mid of Feb 2006 to join NUST. In April 2006, I was one of the only four lucky students who were awarded New South Global Scholarship to peruse my research in the state of NSW, Australia. I joined Department of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication at University of New South Wales (UNSW) to pursue my PhD studies. I was given a top up scholarship by this department. After few weeks of my arrival in Sydney, Australia I was offered a research assistant position in National ICT Australia (NICTA), where I got yet another top up scholarship.

In the End I would like to thank Allah All Mighty from the core of my heart that he has given me power and guidance to achieve all this. Above all, I am one of the very very lucky people who get an opportunity to take care of their parents when they are in need. I am lucky to live in the awesome city of Australia i.e. Sydney with my father.
